When writing checks for credit card payments, do not put the entire credit card account number on the check.

Use only the last 4 digits in the "For" line.

Credit Card Phone Numbers

Document the phone numbers for your credit card companies along with the credit card number.

Keep this in a different location than your credit cards.

In the event you need to cancel your credit cards, you will quickly be able to locate the phone numbers.
