Don’t Be a Phishing or Vishing Victim - Back

Don’t Be a Phishing or Vishing Victim

Phishing is a phony email sent under the guise of a legitimate company.

Vishing is the act of a person contacting you and identifying themselves as someone they are not.

Both of these are forms of social engineering.

Social engineering is one of the greatest threats to computer security.

NEVER respond to an email asking for personal information.

If you receive a call and the person is asking information about your computer system or others who work at your organization, get their number and call them back. Also as a safeguard look their number up independently to verify as people can spoof their phone number.

Remember to trust your inner instincts and go with your gut.
