Help Get Issues Resolved Quicker

Microsoft Windows 7 includes a new utility which can help support staff resolve your computer issue quicker. The program is called Problem Steps Recorder. To use it, follow the steps below.

  • Press the Start button

  • Type PSR and press Enter

  • A small window will appear on your screen

  • Make sure any confidential information is off your screen unless it is required to resolve your issue

  • Press the record button

  • Go through the steps which caused the error

  • Add any notes or comments

  • Press the stop button when done

  • Give the file a name which is unique to you and the issue

  • Choose the location where you want it saved

  • Click Save


    • The file is now ready for you to email to your support staff
